I wanted to share this hand position with you as it’s renowned for helping with concentration and especially good if you need to remember something you’ve forgotten.
I know it sounds a bit crazy to think the shape your hands make can help your memory but I think it really does work!
Have a go and let me know what you think. For me, there’s something about touching all your fingertips together that’s quite settling. I think this contributes to improving your concentration which in turn helps you to remember things.
This is known as ‘hakini mudra’ or more commonly ‘businessman’s mudra’
In yoga, a gesture you make with your hands is known as a ‘mudra’ and this particular one is called ‘hakini mudra’ or more commonly ‘businessman’s mudra’.
This is how to do it:
- Place your hands out in front of you, with your palms facing each other
- Touch the tips of your thumbs together and each of your fingertips, keep some space between your palms
- Push your palms together, only by a couple of centimetres
- That’s it!
